Abri Architects was approached by the Muriwai Golf Club to undertake a review and redesign of their clubhouse facilities. The clubhouse sits atop a small bluff over looking the course, with magnificent views to the west coast and Tasman Sea. The design brief involved special attention to itís unique location and the benefits this brings as well as the challenges with respect to the harsh environment that the west coast offers. Materials and forms are simple and natural, making reference to the colours and forms of the surrounding landscape, with a special emphasis on the durability of the materials used.

Use of computer modeling has enabled us to communicate our ideas effectively to the board, and planning for construction is now well underway.
